Disappointing Products | #1

Hi Guys,
So for today's post I wanted to share with your guys some of my most disappointing products.
now  don't want this to turn into a doom and gloom post so I am only going to talk about a few products, but I felt that I should show you some of the products that I personally didn't get on with. Because you always hear about the good side to all products but never the downside, which can be just as useful.

So first up is the collection lasting perfection foundation. Now as you all know by now that the concealer version to this is a must, and the majority of the beauty world would recommend it. Which is why I had such high hopes for the foundation. I figured that since the concealer is so good the foundation should be as well. but I was wrong.
Now I'm quite a pale person so whenever I pick-up a drug-store foundation I automatically just grab up the lightest shade.  The lightest shade from this brand is called Porcelain which is typically a very pale colour, but in the lasting perfection range its quite the opposite, its very orange and definitely not a light colour, so that's the first down fall. The next is that it doesn't last very long within a couple of hours its starts to wear off, and become all patchy. Which just looks horrific, especially if it too dark for your skin colour anyway.

Now on to the second product, the they're real mascara from benefit. Now I have heard mixed opinions on this mascara from the day if first came out. Some people got on with it from day one, and others not so much. I am one of these people who didn't get on with it, and I still don't to this day. I find it makes my lashes look very dull and a bit like how your lashes look once you've come out of the shower(is the best way to describe it) now maybe it just me and I have weird lashes, but for all the hype it got, I was very disappointed with it.
but because it was an expensive high-end investment, I continued with it for a while to see if it got better over time, and occasionally I will still get it out now and gain to see it its changed at all. And it hasn't so that why the they're real mascara had to go in my disappointing products list.

I am in love with the lush shop and until this product I had no fault with anything in that shop!
The lush popcorn lip scrub, is actually quite disgusting if I'm honest. Unlike the other lip scrubs (which I love by the way), this one gives you the after taste of butter, now I have never minded the taste of butter before I mean its in practically everything we eat nowadays. But when it is in a lip scrub and and you've just brushed your teeth or about to go out, the last thing you want is the taste of butter lingering on your lips. Now if the taste wasn't so powerful it may not be as bad, but I definitely not be purchasing the popcorn lip scrub ever again.

Last but not least its the Bourjois bronzing powder. People are forever going crazy over this drug store bronzer, and I just don't get it. Its very orange for something that is, and I quote ''filled with glints of sunshine'. I've wore it a couple of time to see if it was just me, I just don't get on with it and to be honest I'm no a massive fan of the 'chocolate' smell it is suppose to have.
Ii seriously don't get what all the fuss is about.

Hight street Favourites

Hi Guys,

Today's blog post, as you have probably already guessed by now is a list of my favourite high-street products, now I wont do a long intro as I have a feeling this is going to be quite a long post.

So first up we have the famous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Now it wouldn't be a proper high-street favourites without this little beauty. You've probably heard so much about this concealer already from other bloggers and Youtubers I don't think I need to explain how amazing this is. But basically I never leave the house without it, (Which is why it a tad bit on the grubby side, sorry).

Next up is the Scandaleys Rimmel London Mascara that I have previously talked about in a mascara favourites post. Which I will link here if you wanna go and check that out.

This foundation is my drugstore holy grail!!! It has to be my all time favourite product ever off the highstreet. its the Revlon Colourstay Foundation, mine is in the colour 150 buff if anyone is interested. but honestly if I am unsure as to what foundation to put on, I will always without a doubt reach for this one. I think it is one of the only foundations I will happily re-purchase. And the combination/oily skin formula is perfect for oily skin!

Now I am not a great lover of drugstore lipsticks, L would rather pay a bit extra and get a high-end lipstick that I can guarantee will be good. However with the exception on this Maxfactor lipstick in the could pink brandy 825, I picked this up on a whim purely because I like the packaging, but it turned out I really like the colour and I really think it looks nice on my skin tone. which is why it has ended up in my highstreets favourites blog post.

I know that a lot of people aren't massive fans of gel eye-liner as it is a bit fiddly, but I have always gotten on with it so most of the time I will reach for it over a liquid of pencil. So over the years I have gone through quite a few pots of the stuff, but this one from SEVENTEEN has stood out for me, its a really soft/smooth formula and is really nice to apply.

This Maybeline Colour Tattoo eyeshaddow in On and On Bronze is something that I have mentioned quite a lot about on this blog, So I will link here any posts I have spoken about it in, so that I don't have to ramble on unnecessarily.

I'm not 100% sure as to why I love this Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder so much but every time I have worn it it has made my make-up base stay put all day. It looks so natural on your skin and has an amazingly big mirror which makes it prefect to put in your make-up for when your on the go.

up next isthe Soap and Glory Solar Powder, now for a drug store bronzer this is pretty dam good, it doesn't make you look orange, its perfectly pigmented and its amazing to apply. It just gives your that subtle natural glow.

On to the penultimate product, is this Blush brush from the Real Techniques line, is prefect, for powder, blush, bronzer, highlighter. it its a perfect multi tasker brush. there's something about the shape that makes it really nice to use and apply make-up with.

Last but not least, I am hooked on this Soap and Glory 2 in 1 Archery Brow Pencil. I works wonders, and makes your brows look so natural its unreal, as long as you use the spoolie though. again this is defiantly another product I would re-purchase, because I cannot fault this product.

Thanks for reading

Feel free to comment below any high-street products that are your favourites/essentials, I am looking to try new products.

Nars | Blush & Bronzer

Hi Guys,

So as you can see by the title of the post, this is a review on Nars blush and bronzer.
These have both been staple items in my make-up collection, and I'm so excited to share my thoughts about them with you.

Up first is one of their bronzers, I've got Laguna. I picked this one because it is the one I've heard a lot of great reviews about it from other bloggers and Youtubers. At first glance I thought it looked a bit dark, which for me isn't always the best of things because I'm quite pale. but when I swatched it, I found that it doesn't come out quite as dark as it looks like it should do. it’s actually a really nice golden colour, perfect for the summer months. It’s very much a matte bronzer, which I prefer, it also apples really nicely, and can be easily blend-able to look completely natural.

£27.50

Now on to the blush, firstly can I say I didn't realise how small the blushes were, I knew they were smaller but not this small, it’s about half the size of the bronzer. however packaging aside, it is a very good blush. I've got deep throat, which is a darker slightly shimmery colour. I prefer the darker blushes now, not too sure, I've just found myself reaching for my darker blushes over my lighter ones.

So again like the bronzer, it apply nicely, blends amazing and is just a perfect blush, and I would highly recommend it. So I defiantly think I might have to expand my Nars blush collection soon.

Lip Product Addict Tag!

Hi Guys,

So for today's post I though I'd do the Lip Product Addicts Tag, because as you read this I'll probably be revising for my exams, which I am currently in the middle of. I didn't want to not post anything this week, so I thought I'd do a short but sweet post.

1. Favourite balm/treatment?
The Body Shop - Honeymania Lip Balm.

2. Best eye-catching red?

Either Mac - So Chaud or Lord and Berry - 20100.

They are both bright orangey reds

3. Best luxury & best drugstore?

Drugstore - Rimmel London, Kate - 80 (Nudy/pink)
High End - YSL - Rouge Volupte, Nude Beige 01

4. Best MAC lipstick?
Twig (dark nude)

5. The most disappointing?
Brand wise, any lip products from ELF because they have a funny taste and feeling, I cant stand.
But a product on its own that I was disappointed with is the Maybeline - Colour Elixir, I just really don't like the formula at all.

6. Liner - yes or no?
Depends on the colour of lippy you want, if its a bold colour that needs to be neat and lined then yes, but if its a simple colour then no.

7. Best gloss?
Tanya burr - I found Nemo!
Cant go wrong with that lip gloss.

8. Something extra!
Makeup Revolution, I heart makeup - lip lava liquid lipstick.
I was pleasantly  surprised when I tried these out. these are now a staple in my makeup collection, and I seriously recommend these, everything about them is so good, even the price!

Thanks for reading, and for any of you who are in the middle of any exams, Good Luck!

Feel free to make any suggestions for other blog posts you want me to write or any lip products that you love!

Younique 3D Mascara

Hi Guys,

If you are up-to-date with the beauty world, then over the past few months you have probably head quite a lot of hype surrounding this new 'Younique 3D Mascara'. Now like ever other make-up junkie out there, I have watched a few of the videos other beauty bloggers and their opinion on this 'amazing' mascara. Hearing so many good reviews about it made me even more intrigued, so I went online, did a bit of research and brought myself one, to see if it was really as good as all the videos make it out to be.

So this is the packaging that it comes in, its quite classy for a mascara. Which gives it the impression it really is amazing.

So I'm not going to go into too much detail of how it works because there are hundreds of videos out their already of how it works and how to use it. But it is definitely much simpler than it looks.

On the left here we have the 'transplant gel', which is basically a ordinary mascara just with a fancy name, (which if I'm honest as a stand alone mascara is a pretty crap mascara, it does absolutely nothing for your lashes at all).
And then on the right here is the 'natural fibres' brush/wand thing.

So if you wanna know my honest opinion on 'Younique 3D Mascara', I personally don't like it and I don't think people are being 100% honest in any of their video or review.
Yeah it looks nice (if you like the thick clumpy eyelash look) for the first 10/20 minuets of applying it. But from that point onwards it starts flaking, and falling off under, over and in your eyes. Its definitely not attractive
and not at all helpful. So within about an hour applying the gel and fibre you lashes have completely flaked off.
The fibre applicator isn't what I expected, I though that it would slightly add on to the top of your lashes to give them that extra length, but in reality it doesn't, it clumps at the top and makes it look like you've got mutated eyelashes.
I mean yeah it is a good idea and maybe if they did some work on the formula and applicators it could be one of the best mascaras on the market, but for the time being I am definitely not recommending it to anyone in a hurry.

This is with 3 coats, and I personally don't think it looks as fabulous as everyone is making it out to be. It actually looks quite messy, if I'm honest.

Please keep in mind this in my own personal opinion, which mean that just because I don't like it and don't get on with it doesn't mean that the same thing will apply to all of you.
Feel free to comment below any experiences you've had with Younique 3D Mascara, I would love to hear what you think of it.

Top TV Series

Hi Guys,
So today's post is going to be a nice and easy one. A while ago I did my top 10 favourite apps, so I was thinking maybe I could do a top 10 favourite TV series, and then later on a top 10 favourite movie's list.
I think that this post will be really useful for all you TV junkies out there. Because I feel it is always good to hear someone's opinion on a particular series.
( And can I just point out that these are in not particular order, as I love them all equally)

1. Pretty Little Liars
So as you've probably guessed, I am completely and utterly obsessed with PLL. It is one of the most intestinally gripping mystery murder series in history. Most people who haven't seen it will look at it and think its just another teen drama, and well if you think that then you are mistaken. Because once you've gotten past the first 4 episodes, it turns into this game, that you actually have to think about because if you miss even one second, you will probably never catch up. I honestly cant recommend this series enough, to both genders! it has something for everyone, and I literally can not wit for series 6 to come out.

2. Gossip Girl
Again, probably not a surprise to most of you that gossip girl is a favourite of mine. This series is very much a girly series but with a hint of serious drama. It covers most topics, from drug abuse, murders and pregnancy's. It is set on the upper east side of Manhattan, and basically shows you the life we all wish we had, perhaps without the drama though. there are so many twists and turns through the whole series, it had me on the edge f my chair most of the way through.
And if I'm honest, Blake lively = girl crush.

3. Orange is the new Black.
This isn't my typical series that I would choose to watch. the only reason I started watching OITNB is because I had nothing else to watch, but I am so glad that I did because it is such a good series. I realise that it isn't for everyone as it has quite a bit of nudity, violence and strong language, and you could probably imagine as it is set in a female prison in America...

4. Friends (of Course)
So anyone could have predicted that friends would be on this list. because I reckon that secretly everyone has a soft spot for friends. Its timeless, and still applies to everyday situations and gets quoted on a regular biases. I'm assuming that friends doesn't need much of an explanation, but all I'll say is that if you haven't seen it... you are missing out on life!

5. Modern Family.
As I've previously mentioned in a favourites post a few months ago, I've been watching this series with my family most evenings. Now I watched a couple of series on my own a year or so ago and really loved it, but then they took it off of Netflix, so I persuaded my parents to buy the box set, as it is just a good sit down family comedy series, that has nothing bad in it and will make everyone in the room laugh. Its based on an extended slightly dysfunctional family, which makes it the perfect series to watch with your family.

6. Big Bang Theory
Pputting the big bang theory in my top favourite series, would probably shock a lot of you, because it isn't the typical girly type of series a girl like me would watch. But believe it or not I have massive soft spot for Jim Parsons as Sheldon cooper! now I have to admit I don't understand everything that they say as it is very intelligent scientific talk. but from what I don't understand (or Google) it is really funny, and you will just fall in love with every characters, because there all cute little nerds.

7. Vampire Diaries.
Yet another girly series (what a shocker). this is your typical hot vampire teen drama type of series. It has hot shirtless guys, vampires, wear-wolfs, magic, a tragic yet complicated love story, pretty much everything you could hope for in a teen drama. It is also connected to the 'the originals', which is also a very good series.

8. House of Anubis
This may look very childish as it is a Nickelodeon series, but oh. my. days. it is a darn good one. both me, my dad and my sister were utterly hooked. not sure why as the acting isn't the best in the world (probably no surprise) but the story like is actually really good for a children's program. without giving too much away its a bout a group of students who live in a boarding house which has connections to ancient Egyptian heritage and magical powers.

9. Sherlock homes (BBC version)
Second from last is Sherlock homes, how could it not be. I love this so much and I cannot wait till series 4 comes out. its weird how much it makes you think, and plays with your head. I love programs like that, it keeps you interested and active the whole way through.
But I think the main reason why i love it is because of Benedict Cumberbatch, ngl who could resist him, his name is so beautiful and the character he plays is weirdly attractive.

10. Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Last, but not least, its Buffy the Vampire Slayers. Now I realise that this is a very old series. but I think this was the very first grown up series that id ever watched when I was younger. I'm still yet to finish the whole series but from the seasons I did watched I still remember to this day. and watching them back now you can tell how old they are, but theirs something about them that I love. There's no point in explain what happens because the title is pretty self explanatory...Buffy, slays vampires.

However there are other series that I would also recommend, like Hemlock Grove, Glee, Revenge, 90210, Skins, Misfits, Life Unexpected and even Zoe 101... the list goes on.

So as you can probably tell I love a good series, if you have any suggestions of any series that you like (of any genre), please comment below, I would love to know for future reference.
