Small Mac Haul | 2015

Hi Guys,

As you can tell from the title of this post, I have a little mac haul for you guys. Now I should probably say that I didn't buy all of this in one shop, this has been spread out over a few weeks worth of shopping. and two of the items were given to me as a present from my Auntie in America, these items will have a (*) next to them.

so lets get on with the haul...

..........

 .............

First up is a standard pressed powder, now I have wanted a powder from Mac for a while because I have heard so much about them. And I find that most of the high-street pressed powders smash so easily. I though I'd give one a go. So far it is going good and I am really happy with it.

Blot Powder/Pressed
Light
£20.50
.............

Next is a highlighter, Mac highlighters get raved about so much within the beauty world. and this one defiantly lives up to the standard. it is the most gorgeous highlighter I have ever applied to my face. it looks so natural.

(*)
Mineralized Skin Finish
Lighscapade
£23
..................

The famous Mac lipstick. No Mac haul would be complete without a mac lipstick of some sort. And this one is no exception. as I've said in a previous post, mac lipsticks are addictive and no make-up addicts collection would be complete without a hand full of these little black beautys.

The first one is a red/nude colour called crème in your coffee, it is a creamsheen. Its is absolutely stunning! I actually got recommended this by a former teacher of mine (Hi Mrs Page!).

 (*)

The second one is a cute girly pink colour called please me, and its a matte finish. Its is going to be a prefect shade of this summer.

£15.50
............

Again this is something I've heard a lot about, this is suppose to be the ultimate Concealer, and a high-end dupe for the collection concealer. Now let me tell you, this is a holy grail concealer to me now! I wont apply my make-up without it any more.

Pro Longwear Concealer
NW15
£17
...............

Next up is a good old dark pink blush, its not the traditional pink girly blush most people would buy. but I just wanted to try something new, and like most things I buy from Mac I feel in love with this the first time I used it.

Powder Blush
Margin
£18
.............

So a few months ago I started a Mac Pro Palette, and occasionally I will buy an eye-shadow for the palette, so that it gradually fills up. This bronzie colour is prefect for the eyelid crease if you want a natural/nude eyes.

Eye-shadow/pro Palette Refill Pan
Arena
£10
.................

Last but not lease, over the past few months I think, Mac have been giving away small samples of the False Lash Extreme Black Mascara with ever purchase. So as you can imagine I have accumulated quite a few over the past few weeks. Now I'm not into the whole High end mascara stuff because I still say a mascara is a mascara whether its high end or not. But I have to say this one is particularly good. So once I've finished with my heap of samples I may just purchased the full sized mascara.

Mac | Foundation & Concealer

Hi Guys,

So a few weeks ago I went into Cambridge with my mum to do a little bit of spring shopping, when I found myself in Mac. Now I have been anticipating purchasing a Mac foundation for a long time now, and since I had just finished my mocks, I figured I deserved a little treat. (I realise these photos aren't the most flattering, but who really cares).

(with no make up on)
(with just foundation on)

When it comes to mac foundations people only ever talk about mac's studio fix, but I opted for something different, something I little lighter.
I went for mac's match master, this is a light to medium coverage, but defiantly build-able. it smells a lot nicer than most foundations, and leaves you with incredibly soft skin and looking flawless.
£28

(photo of me before and after)

As as for concealer, I went for the mac's select cover-up.
Its just a simple concealer, quite thick, but not at all cake-y.
I use it under my eyes and on blemishes, just a all round good concealer.
If I was to compare it to a high street one, it would be the collection lasting perfection concealer (which as we know is everyone's favourite).
£15.50

(with a full face on)

Feel free to make any suggestions for other blog posts you want me to write, and any other foundations & concealers that you recommend.

My Top 6 Blushes.

Hi guys, its autumn,

For this week’s blog post, I thought I’d share my Top 6 Blushes with you. Now I have to admit I'm not a massive fan of blushes, quite often I’ll completely forget about them when I'm applying my make-up each morning.  I do however have quite a wide range of different blushes, but that’s mainly down to the fact that I still haven’t found one that I'm 100% happy with yet (my signature blush, if you will). But I shall continue to hunt for that perfect blush, that is out there somewhere with my name on. I'm defiantly more of a contour girl than a blush.

So in at number 6 is a blush from ‘Bourjois’
Healthy Mix, bonne mine 41
£7.99
This is a cute little blush, perfect for carrying around in your handbag. Which is probably one of the only reason I use this, I don’t like to carry around big chunky make-up items in my make-up bag or handbag, I prefer to keep things minimal. So because I don’t have any other blushes this size, it becomes my go to blush for traveling. I'm not saying it’s a bad product at all, but like I said earlier I'm not a massive fan of blushes.

At number  5 we have a Blush from ‘Max Factor’
Flawless Perfection, 223 Natural Glow.
£6.99
As you can see there is a compartment for a small blush brush, but I tend to take them out as I don’t use them and they just get in the way.
Now for a high street blush, this is pretty good one, it’s a bit dark for my liking but the store I go too they only had 2 choices. It is highly pigmented and gorgeous dark pinkie colour. I don’t wear it as much as I would like to but I defiantly think it’s more of a winter/fall colour because it is a little dark, but that’s just my opinion.

Number 4, is a Blush by’ Mac’
Pro Longwear Blush, Rosy Outlook.
£20.00

Many of you will be surprised to see a ‘Mac’ product at number 4 and not at number 1, because most people rate all ‘Mac’ products very highly. Now I'm not saying it’s a bad product because if it was then it wouldn't make it into my top 6; but I'm not saying it my favourite blush either. The reason why it is in my top 6 is because it is still a very good quality blush, and on the right days can look quite nice. I guess what I'm trying to say is that me and this blush have a love, hate relationship, some days it look horrendous on me, but on days that it wants to cooperate then it looks stunning, if I do say myself. As you can expect it is highly, highly pigmented, and lasts a long time.

Number 3 is a blush from ‘Estee Lauder’
Pure colour blush, Mauve Mystique Shimmer  16.
£27.00
This blush is undoubtedly a gorgeous colour! It’s such a deep red/pink colour, it’s almost perfect. Which is why it has to be in my top 6, the reason why it isn’t at number one is because it isn’t my most used blush. I really don’t wear it enough if I’m honest, but as you can see it’s such a bold daring colour, you have to be in the mood to wear it comfortably.  It’s a tiny bit darker than the max factor blush. I would recommend any of the ‘Estee Lauder’ blushes to anyone, because they are such good quality and there is a colour for everyone. The photo doesn’t do it justice, it sparkles so much.

Number 2 is a blush by ‘No7’
Natural blush tint powder, soft damson.
£8.00

I am quite a pale person, which is why I don’t wear darker blushes too often. I tend to go for the lighter pinks for a few reason, first of all because I feel more comfortable wearing them, secondly because they are more everyday colours. They give your cheeks just that hint of colour nothing to dramatic, just simple, pretty and pink. And thirdly because I love love love to wear dark or bold lips, so having a light pink blush just completes the look. And for the price it is, it’s a bargin.

Finally at number 1 it is the gorgeous blush from ‘benefit’
Dandelion
£23.50
Well as you can see I have hit pan severally on this blush, which can only mean one thing… it’s been well loved. This was my first ever high end product, and it was brought for me by my mum on one of our girly days out. This is the perfect colour for me; it’s got a hint of colour, a tiny bit of shimmer and lasts for ages and ages. Now I am not the biggest fan of benefit if I'm honest, but I do have to give them credit for their dandelion blush because it its utterly perfect.

Mac Lipstick Collection

Hi Guys, its Autumn.

I Hope you've all had a good week back at school or work after the Christmas period? I decided to do a post on my mac lipstick collection, as it is one of my most prized collections. Like most beauty bloggers will say, this post isn't to boast or brag, it’s simple to inform about my opinions. My collection is neither the biggest nor the smallest, but hopefully I will be trying to expand it over time.

So I guess to start with which Mac Lipsticks I actually own. So from left to right we have… Angel –  Frosted, Snob – Satin, Lovelorn – Lustre, Speak Louder – Creamsheen, So Chaud – Matte, Hot Tahiti – Glaze, Diva – Matte, Heroin – Matte.

Here are the swatches from all of them, in order.

There are the colours I would consider summer colours, they are all pinks and nudes.my favourite one from these four is ‘Snob’ it is a light pink, perfect for everyday looks, especially if you've gone for a heavy eye make-up look. It just gives your lips that hit of colour. They all leave a shiny coat, some more than others.
‘Angel’ is my go too nude colour, ‘Speak Louder’ is a toned down hot pink, and ‘Lovelorn’ is an average pink colour. They are all amazingly pigmented, and the most perfect pinks I own.

These for colours are my winter/autumn colours. As we all know dark lips are perfect for the colder season! And out of these for ‘Diva’ is my favourite, actually I think it’s my favourite mac lipstick of all. It is the perfect dark red, goes with any outfit, make-up look or hairstyle. Plus it makes it look like you've put more effort into your make-up than you actually is. The matte colours aren't drying at all, as long as you put a bit of lip balm on, your good to go.

‘Heroin’ was my riskiest purchase; it’s a purple colour, not my normal choice.  I have to say I don’t wear it as often as I would like to but I still love it just as much as the rest. ‘Hot Tahiti’ is the newest to the family, it’s a gorgeous glossy toned down red. And last but not least, ‘So Chaud’ is a bright red/orange.; it’s great for brightening us the cloudy days.

Finally on to the packaging. They may look small and boring to any ordinary person, but to a beauty blogger they are much more. The packaging plays an important part in the decision making of any beauty product. If the packaging is good then we are more likely to invest in it. The little back bullet shape with the silver band around the middle is just so sophisticated and perfect. They are recolonised world wide.
Although they are £15.50 a lipstick, it may sound a tad pricie, but the are sooo worth it!!!
