Urban Decay | Primer Potion & Naked2 Basics

Hi Guys,

So I have had the Urban decay Primer Potion for a while now, and when I purchased the naked basics pallet a few weeks ago, I figured I should probably do a review on them both, but since they work so perfectly together I thought I'd 'kill 2 birds with 1 stone' (hypothetically) and review them together.

originally I was never a huge fan of eyelid primers, but since discovering the Urban Decay Primer Potion I have been converted and I'm not sure how my eye shadows would last without this any more. It truly doe work.
It is a skin/nudy colour when it comes out of the bottle, which helps to cover up and dark veins that you can see on your eyelids.
£16

So these two items to hand in hand really, eye-shadow primer and eye shadows. I already have one of the naked pallets, which I did a review on last year.
I decided to get the Naked2 basic pallets, because they are more compact, which means that they are easier to take out with you 'on the go'. They contain the best colours from the original pallets, which just happen to be the essential colour to do pretty much any eye-shadow look you want.
£23

Three lighter colours, and 3 slightly darker colours, and they are all matte.
the eye-shadow formula itself is really good because it light but not too light. it wont cake on, as well as the fact that the texture is so velvety.

From left to right - skimp, stark & frisk
From left to right - cover, primal & undone

So if you wanted one of the naked pallets but are done want a big bulky palette or are unsure as to which one to get, then you should try out the naked basic pallet's.

Primark Makeup 'P.S love' Review.

Hi Guys,

I've been hearing rumours that the newly branded make-up collection from Primark is actually quite good. which is why I made a little trip down to Primark to try a few bits out for myself. I didn't get a whole lot, but I did get a variety of things that look like they should be good.

So to start with I picked up a powdered blush, and a cream blush stick. now the powdered blush seams a little bright, but if you put it on lightly then it can be a pretty and subtle colour. Its not as pigmented as I'd hope it would be but overall its a decent blush. however the cream blush stick isn't so good. its very dry and doesn't apply very well, if I'm honest its better as a lipstick than a blush.

So, their foundation stick was the one thing I was a bit weary off. Purely because its very hard to come across a foundation, that is long lasting, a good coverage AND the right colour. now because its a stick its not the easiest thing to apply, but it is defiantly a good colour match and has good coverage, its very creamy, unlike other foundation sticks. there beauty blender isn't the best beauty blender in the world, but its usable in an emergency.

In my personal opinion their eye-liners are the best products that they sell. They are jet black, and a hell of a lot better than some high end eye-liners. They apply perfectly, and stay on for a long time.

Mascaras are another things that people can be quite picky about. everyone has a certain way that they like their lashes. And if you like long lashes then you'll love this mascara.

Now on too eye-shadows, I was so hopping that this eye-shadow pallet was going to be amazing. but sadly I was wrong. When I got home and opened the box and the eye-shadows I found, that 2 of the colours had smashed. Which was really disappointing. the colours themselves are soft and don't seam like they last very long. I tried to clean the palette up as good as I could, but as you can see it didn't go too well. on the upside the variety of colours in the palette is pretty good.

Overall, I personally think that the Primark Makeup 'PS love' isn't as bad as people would assume. it does have its ups and downs but so does any other make-up brand.

Thanks for reading.

Urban Decay - Naked 2 palette review

Hi Guys, its Autumn.

My family and I had our Christmas day a couple of weekends ago, due to a unexpected family emergency. This meant that as well as having the traditional Christmas dinner, we also opened up all our presents. And In one of mine there was the Naked 2 palette, by urban Decay. My parents knew I’d been wanting this for a very long time. Because in my eyes I wasn't a true ‘make-up collector’ until I owned one of the naked palettes. You can probably tell how unbelievably happy I am that I'm the new proud owner of this magical eye-shadow palette. I was going to upload this post straight away as I couldn't wait to tell the world how happy I was, but in true blogger style I decided to wait, try it out for a few weeks (just to make sure it was just as fabulous as I thought it would be) and then do a little review on it. Because when I was researching which pallet to invest in, it certainly helped me to come to a decision, looking through the variety of different recommendation and reviews people had already done on all 3 naked palettes. So I hope this helps if you are trying to make a decision one which one to get, because I would highly recommend it.

This is the box it comes in.

The first six colours in the set are lighter colours. They would probably be worn more in the daytime or as everyday colours. all very stunning colours.

The last six colours are a lot darker than the first six, I think they would be more for evening or event type make-up looks. Especially as there are more shimmery and sparkly, but again all gorgeous colours.

From right to left,
Foxy, Half Baked, Booty Call, Chopper, Teaser, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted and Blackout.
Snakebite being my favourite, its defiantly my everyday, all over colour.

Over all I personally think that this pallet in particular has a good mix of shimmery and matte colours, perfect for any look your trying to achieve. The packaging is perfect, and for me that's always a good thing. Good packaging is generally a good sign that the product inside is gunna be good as well.
Finally the box my parents purchased from Debenhams came with four little samples of eyelid primers from Urban Decay, and a double sided eye-shadow brush.
So all in all, this product is well worth the money. Now £37 is quite a lot of money, I have to admit, but I wouldn’t be saying this unless I truly meant it,

However if you think about you are defiantly getting your money’s worth with 12 amazingly pigmented different colours.

Hope this is helpful.
