Mac | Foundation & Concealer

Hi Guys,

So a few weeks ago I went into Cambridge with my mum to do a little bit of spring shopping, when I found myself in Mac. Now I have been anticipating purchasing a Mac foundation for a long time now, and since I had just finished my mocks, I figured I deserved a little treat. (I realise these photos aren't the most flattering, but who really cares).

(with no make up on)
(with just foundation on)

When it comes to mac foundations people only ever talk about mac's studio fix, but I opted for something different, something I little lighter.
I went for mac's match master, this is a light to medium coverage, but defiantly build-able. it smells a lot nicer than most foundations, and leaves you with incredibly soft skin and looking flawless.
£28

(photo of me before and after)

As as for concealer, I went for the mac's select cover-up.
Its just a simple concealer, quite thick, but not at all cake-y.
I use it under my eyes and on blemishes, just a all round good concealer.
If I was to compare it to a high street one, it would be the collection lasting perfection concealer (which as we know is everyone's favourite).
£15.50

(with a full face on)

Feel free to make any suggestions for other blog posts you want me to write, and any other foundations & concealers that you recommend.

My Everyday Eyebrow

Hi Guys,

So as you can probably see today's post is on my everyday eyebrows. Now I have been anticipating writing this for a while now, I just wasn't sure if I was happy enough with the how I do my brows to write a blog post on them. But now the time has come, I have finally found a way that I am comfortable with (for the time being), so I am going to share with you guys how I do it.

To me, the eyebrows can make or break your make-up look, and it is a personal pet hate with people either don't take enough care in their eyebrows or over do it e.g. slugs.
But in no way shape or form am I saying that I have the best eyebrows ever, because I know I don't! I'm just stating my personal opinion, in that people should take care of their eyebrows.

(Before and After)

(here are the products/tools I use)

So firstly I use the 'brow 2' powder in the medium - Milani - brow fix kit. Just to fill them and make them look a bit fuller/thicker. Surprisingly this colour looks too light for my eyebrows, but when I put it on, its almost the exact colour. The angled brush it comes with may look small but it is actually prefect for filling in brows. They come with mini tweezers which I haven't yet used, but from the look of them they are probably quite good. lastly on to the highlighter, its isn't the most amazing highlighter ever, but if your on the go, it'll do I guess. Its such a cute little compact set, I love it.

You can purchase the Brow Fix here.

After I've filled it all in, i just go through with the soap and glory brow tint and precision liner just to fill in any gaps and straighten up any edges with the fine liner end. then I will brush through my brows with any spoolie brush, this will help to make them look more natural and even, other wise they will look really fake.
Some people go over with a clear or coloured gel, just to set everything in place, I personally don't think it does much, but you may find that it works for you. Its all about experimenting.

So lets talk about shaping your eyebrows. Now I have been plucking my eyebrows for a long time now. At some points it has gotten out of control, and I've been left with hardly any brows. Purely because I made the mistake of plucking mine myself instead of seeking professional help.
Like I've said previously eye brows are important, but if you are happy with the way your natural brow is, then leave it, this post wont apply to you. Not everyone has to draw or shape them, because you may have been blessed with the prefect set of brows.
However if you aren't happy with your eyebrows then there are a million products out their that can help you find a way that you are happy and comfortable with.  I am just offering up a suggestion.

'Remember eyebrows are suppose to be sisters, not twins!'

And for any of the Pretty Little Liars fans out there, the big 'A' reveal, did not see that one coming. Actually cannot wait for season 6!!

Feel free to make any suggestions for other blog posts you want me to write or product you recommend for the 'perfect' brow!

The Body Shop | ALL-IN-ONE

Hi Guys,

As it is now spring (whether it feels like it or not) I thought I'd inform you guys of some make-up products that may be useful, because personally when it gets to the spring/summer months I don't like wearing to much heavy make-up, especially foundation. Which is why I've been trying out a variety of BB creams, CC creams and lighter bases.

I've been using this primer for over a year now, and I have to admit this body shop primer is probably one of the best high-street primers I've used... so far. I don't really know how to describe the texture its a sort of thick silicon type of moose. Which is probably why is is so good at keeping shine under control, as well as reducing the look of pores
You could even wear this on its own, as it just makes your skin look that little bit more healthier.

Unlike most BB creams it comes out as a white moisturiser, until you start rubbing into your skin, then it turns into your skin colour, it adapts to your skin tone (which is very cool), it is a very light coverage, and isn't oily at all. It just leaves you with a natural sun kissed glow.

Haul | Makeup Revolution

Hi Guys,

So I recently did a make-up revolution order. I've heard quite a lot about their products but actually brought any. so I thought I'd do a little haul of what I brought and what I think for each product.

The first thing I brought was this shimmer blush, I'm not really into shimmer blushes, but the packaging is pretty so I figured I may as well give it a try.
Bushing Hearts, Triple Baked Blush, Iced Hearts.
£4.99

Now I personally love a good eye-shadow palette, and make-up revolution have an amazing selection. Again like the blush this one stood out to me because it was in the shape of the chocolate bar. But I have to admit the eye-shadows them selves are actually amazing, they are really pigmented.
I heart Makeup, Naked Chocolate
£7.99

(front of the palette)

Here are the names of the eye-shadows from top left to bottom right.

(smoothly, divine, adorable, buttons, frosted choc, double dip, tab-le-rone, white)

(mocha lover, dipped, choc-fest, delight, sweet shop, suger, milky, way)

This next product I brought on a whim. Its a anti shine balm
So as you can see I have already used it once, and if I'm honest I wasn't that impressed with it. Within a few hours my face was back to be oily again, so I resorted to using powder again.
Wouldn't recommend it.
ultra all day prime & anit-shine balm
£5.oo

So I really a product that does more than 1 thing. so a palette that contains a bronzer, blush and highlighter is perfect. most people will probably have the sleek palette, which at first glance would look almost identical to this one, But its not. I prefer this palette over the sleek one purely because the sleek one contains a shimmer blush, which like I've said previously, I hate. The blush and bronzer are matte.
iconic, blush bronze & brighten flush
£4.oo

Now when I saw this product I had high hopes for it. Mainly because it is a brow tint in tube, but also because it says its none smudge. But sadly I was disappointed with it, it is defiantly not none smudge, and its quite think, which means it comes out quite dark.
ultra Aqua Brow Tint, medium
£3.oo

I think this lip lava is one of my favourite, products I brought from make-up revolution, its a gorgeous colour, stays on for a long time and dry's matte but with a hint of gloss.
I would highly recommend these, I might just have to go back and order some more colours.
I heart makeup, lip lava, tremor
£2.99

There lip sticks are so cheep, I couldn't quite believe it, which is why I thought I'd better give them a try to see how good they are. Now they are defiantly not the best lipsticks in the world, but they are most certainly not the worst lipsticks in the world either. They are a bit too creamy with not enough colour for my liking. But for the price, I'm sure there are crappier lipsticks.
Amazing lipstick, Mystify
£1.oo

So on to some more eye shadows. who doesn't love a good eye-shadow? haha.
the colour of this eye shadows doesn't show up too well on camera which is why I haven't included a picture of a swatch. its a very light silvery brown, and isn't that pigmented so when you apply it is more of a light shimmer than an actual colour.
Eye-shadow, good life
£1.oo

I don't normally go for eye-shadow pigments, purely because they can get really messy and turn everything shimmery. but for the sake of my blog I'd give this one a go because it is such a pretty gold/champagne colour. I haven't yet worn it, but from the swatch that I did, it looks very promising.
Eye dust, Indirect
£1.oo

Feel free to make any suggestions for other blog posts you want me to write or any Makeup Revolution product that you like/recommend.

MyTop 6 Mascaras

Hi Guys,
So a while ago I did a post on my top 6 blushes, and that went down really well. which is why I've decided to do on for my mascaras, and hopefully a few more, if that is what you guys would like. (in no specific order.)

For my first mascara. is the Rimmell London Scandaleyes mascara, this is old one of mine (as you can see) I use to love this when I was first getting into makeup. and it is still to this day a favoured mascara.it volumizes like no other.

No this is a relatively new mascara to the beauty market, its the roller lash mascara from benefit. now I was unsure about this mascara purely because I didn't get on with the 'there real mascara' benefit did. and if I'm honest I'm not the biggest fan of the brand benefit anyway. but as it was being sold in the 'Ellie' magazine I figured I may as well give it ago. and turns out I love it, I really does lengthen and roll your lashes. So when this runs out, I will defiantly re-purchase the full size mascara.

This next one, is one from urban decay - perversion. I've always thought that mascara primers were a waste of time, until I tried this one. its perfect.  realise that the majority of mascara users wont like the brush of this mascara, but personally I prefer these types of brushes to the plastic ones. it just transforms your lashes from flat dull lashes into long, textured volatised lashes. I would seriously recommend trying any mascara primer, you'll never look back.

Now this Kardashian beauty mascara - the quickie, is seriously under rated. it just thickens up your lashes, its perfect to go on top of a lengething mascara. And hey presto you have amazing lashes.

So natural collection is another under rated mascara and brand. but believe me when I say its a bloody good brand. their mascara is the one I reach for when I'm having a simple makeup look day. purely because it isn't anything dramatic, but there is the perfect amount to be noticeable. so if you are on a budget, I would seriously recommend this one.

Lord and berry is a brand that most people wont even of heard of.  but everything I have brought from them I haven't had a problem with, which is why I am not just recommending their mascara but also their brand. again like natural collection it is a very simple mascara, however the difference between the two is that it lengthens more. I wold suggest the lord and berry mascara with the Kardashian beauty mascara, these two are heaven together.

If any of you have any mascara recommendations then I would love to hear about them.

Thanks for reading.

Primark Makeup 'P.S love' Review.

Hi Guys,

I've been hearing rumours that the newly branded make-up collection from Primark is actually quite good. which is why I made a little trip down to Primark to try a few bits out for myself. I didn't get a whole lot, but I did get a variety of things that look like they should be good.

So to start with I picked up a powdered blush, and a cream blush stick. now the powdered blush seams a little bright, but if you put it on lightly then it can be a pretty and subtle colour. Its not as pigmented as I'd hope it would be but overall its a decent blush. however the cream blush stick isn't so good. its very dry and doesn't apply very well, if I'm honest its better as a lipstick than a blush.

So, their foundation stick was the one thing I was a bit weary off. Purely because its very hard to come across a foundation, that is long lasting, a good coverage AND the right colour. now because its a stick its not the easiest thing to apply, but it is defiantly a good colour match and has good coverage, its very creamy, unlike other foundation sticks. there beauty blender isn't the best beauty blender in the world, but its usable in an emergency.

In my personal opinion their eye-liners are the best products that they sell. They are jet black, and a hell of a lot better than some high end eye-liners. They apply perfectly, and stay on for a long time.

Mascaras are another things that people can be quite picky about. everyone has a certain way that they like their lashes. And if you like long lashes then you'll love this mascara.

Now on too eye-shadows, I was so hopping that this eye-shadow pallet was going to be amazing. but sadly I was wrong. When I got home and opened the box and the eye-shadows I found, that 2 of the colours had smashed. Which was really disappointing. the colours themselves are soft and don't seam like they last very long. I tried to clean the palette up as good as I could, but as you can see it didn't go too well. on the upside the variety of colours in the palette is pretty good.

Overall, I personally think that the Primark Makeup 'PS love' isn't as bad as people would assume. it does have its ups and downs but so does any other make-up brand.
